The Understory Release
Nine candles and four glazes, drawn from the wood in late autumn.
The understory is the low, damp layer of the wood — bramble, bracken, moss on fallen beech. This release follows it: smoke and green sap in the wax, a wet-stone grey and a soft bracken brown in the glaze.
Pieces are released a few at a time as they leave the kiln, rather than all at once.

Autumn candle release Woodsmoke, fig leaf and wet moss — poured on Thursdays.
Three scents in the autumn run, each poured into a stoneware vessel you can keep and refill. Wicks are cotton, wax is a rapeseed and coconut blend, and nothing is rushed to set.
-
Stoneware seconds shelf Kiln-kissed pieces with a gentle flaw and a kinder price.
A glaze crawl, a thumbprint, a rim that leans a degree off true. Sound to drink from, just not quite what we intended — and the shelf is restocked every time the kiln is unpacked.

Gift wrapping & notes Ribbon, a pressed fern and a handwritten card in the box.
Ask at checkout and the piece is wrapped in unbleached paper and tied with cotton ribbon. Leave the words you want and they are written out by hand before the box is sealed.

Open studio Saturdays Doors ajar, wheel running, kettle on.
No booking, no charge. Come and watch a pot come up, look along the drying shelves, take home whatever is finished. Children and wet boots are both welcome.
-
Wheel throwing for beginners Three hours, four people, one very forgiving glaze.
You will centre clay, pull a wall, and probably collapse the first two. Everything you keep is fired and glazed here, then set aside for you to collect on an open Saturday.
-
Candle pouring evenings Blend your own scent at the wax bench.
Twelve oils on the bench, a set of scales, and as long as it takes to find something you actually want to burn. Your candle sets while everyone else is still deciding.

Notes from the bench A short letter each new moon about clay and weather.
What came out of the kiln, what cracked, what the wood is doing. Twelve or thirteen letters a year, never more, and the release dates always land there first.
-
How the glazes are made Ash, feldspar, and a long walk for the ash.
A written walk-through of the four house glazes — where the wood ash comes from, how it is washed and sieved, and why the same recipe behaves differently in a wet month.

Caring for your candle & cup Trim, burn, wash, repeat. Nothing precious.
Trim the wick to a fingernail, give the first burn long enough to reach the edge, and wash the stoneware by hand when you can be bothered. It is made to be used daily.
